In this article, we will see how to manage an online store's shopping cart through URSify.
Shopfront:
Your shopfront will be the online store where consumer sees and buys product. Customer can view his desired product and select to add that product to the shopping cart.
Product Selection:
Customer can select the desired product, where he/she can view the product image. There are two viewing options namely 'ZOOM' and 'VIEW' on the product image.
ZOOM:
When customer wish to view the product in magnified manner, then he can select this control.
VIEW:
When customer selects this control, it displays a small box where he/she can view the name of the product, product image with zoom option, price of the product, stock availability and a selection control to select the number of quantity that user wish to purchase.
Here we can view 3 controls namely, 'ADD TO CART', 'ADD TO WISHLIST', 'ADD TO COMPARE'.
ADD TO CART:
If user wish to add a product to the cart, then this control can be selected. After selecting this option, user can view a message as 'Item added successfully' on the online store. This is one way to add a product in shopping cart.
The second way to add product to shopping cart is by selecting the cart image control on the lower left position of the selected product image.
Like this, user can add many number of products to the shopping cart.
Mini Cart Page:
The added products can be viewed in mini cart page. This can be viewed by selecting the rounded cart image control on the top right corner of the online store.
Here we can view(by placing the mouse control over the rounded cart image) the list of added product image, quantity and price of the product. The latest added product is placed at the top of the list.
Apart from this, we can view(near the rounded cart image) the numerical value of the number of products that are added to the cart and the total price of the cart's products.
Inside the mini cart page there are two controls namely: 'VIEW CART' and 'CHECKOUT'.
Cart Page:
This can be viewed by selecting the 'VIEW CART' control inside the mini cart page.
The cart page shows the magnified view of the mini cart page along with some action controls like 'UPDATE' and 'REMOVE'.
UPDATE:
User can change the number of quantity of a product inside a cart page by increasing or decreasing the quantity value control. After this user should click 'UPDATE'. A message will be displayed as follows: 'Item updated successfully'.
REMOVE:
User can make use of this control to delete an item from the cart.
Discount Codes:
If there are discounts available, user can specify the code in this field to avail discounts. After giving the code, user should select the 'APPLY COUPON' control.
Below the discount field, we can view the total product price(SUB TOTAL), discount(this value will be subtracted from the subtotal) and the total price value.
UPDATE CART:
After applying discount codes, in order to deduct those amount from the total price, user should select this control.
These are some of the steps involved in adding products to the shopping cart and viewing the total price value before processing to checkout process.
