Online Store Pre-Launching Secrets

Hi All,

Most online stores often fail initially because of their inability to drive traffic.

Many ecommerce start-ups think only to showcase their products and also dedicate themselves only in finding the right products. This resembles a narrow approach in launching their online store.

Launching an online store successfully is more than having right products, a beautiful site design and product photography.

The majority of online stores are not selling their products to the right people.

This in turn forces you as a founder to lure buyers and thereby offer heavy discounts, greater marketing. All these feels like your brand is of less worth for your customers.

Build Audience Before Launch

Unless confirming a secure audience, don't go for an online store launch.

But how is that possible?

You can use pages like "coming soon" and ask your leads to their email address. This is one of the part of your pre-launch program.

You can also use a referral marketing program, if it works for you, but this is not the only option available either.

Secure Your Distribution Channels First

What’s important to consider when you’re building your pre-launch distribution list (the first group of contacts that will bring you even more contacts) is a concept known as the “Minimum Effective Dose” which is about applying no more energy than necessary to get the right results.

Depending on your existing network, this distribution list probably won’t be built in a day, and that’s fine. It is worth taking an inventory of what you are able to do fairly simply, then build a plan that expands your distribution on top of that.

Doing Wonders With Your Pre-Launch List?

As you’re building your pre-launch list, take the time to get to know the people on the list, and share exciting developments about your progress.

Here are some ideas with what you can do with your earliest contacts:
  • Ask for (and listen to) your friends’ advice. We asked for feedback on everything from our name to product design to pricing.
  • Show your friends your product renderings, pictures, if possible you can even show a kickstarter video before releasing your online store to the public.
  • Throw a launch party. Having a large group of people in one room, all excited about your project, creates a united energy you can’t create through emails, phone calls, or one-on-one meetings. Invite over 50 motivated and influential friends, show them your kickstarter video and make a speech telling them why you need their help and exactly what you need them to do.

The idfeel special, and like they have some ownership in what you’re doing, as well as motivate some of them to share what you’re doing organically.

ea is to make your earliest adopters
