Creating Promo Codes in URSify

Promotion Codes:

Promotion codes are one way of increasing conversions for your online stores. This also creates a curiosity in the mind of your customers to buy products immediately. This way promotion codes improve your products' brand recognition.

Steps involved in creating a promotion code:

Creating a discount or promotion code in URSify is easy.

Follow the below steps to create a promotion code in URSify:

Promotion menu in shop admin:

Select "Promotion" menu in your shop admin. There will be 2 parts visible namely "Coupon list" and "Add Coupon". In that select "Add Coupon" since you are about to create a discount code.

Input fields available:

Enter the following information for the different fields available:

Coupon Code:

Enter your coupon code (e.g. C101) in this field. This will be the code that are going to be used by your customers after release of your discount code.

Name of your coupon:

Enter name of your coupon in the "Name" field. This might be useful for you to track your coupon in future.

Coupon Description:

You can provide description about your coupon code if necessary in the "Description" text input area. However, this is purely optional.

Controlling your Coupon Time Validity:

You can control the usage of coupons under time restriction. This can be done by entering date details in "From Date" and "To Date" input fields. For example if you enter 01/01/2015 to 10/01/2015 as your date values in the above mentioned fields, then coupon codes cannot be used by your customers after 10/01/2015. In other words the validity of your coupon code starts exactly from 01/01/2015 12.00 am  to 10/01/2015 11.59 pm.

Customer Group Selection:

Have control over the usage of your coupons to a specific target group of customers. Select the type of customer group from the available options (e.g. General, Guest) in the "Customer Group" field.

Coupon Usage Restriction:

Uses Per Coupon:

You can set the usage validity of your promotion coupon by providing numerical value under "Uses Per Coupon" field. E.g. if you feed "100" as your "uses per coupon" input, then your created coupon cannot be used by any of your customers after the completion of first 100 usage of the coupon.

User Usage Restriction:

You can also control the number of usage of your coupon for a single customer by entering numerical value in "Uses Per Customer" field,  i.e. if you give '10' in "uses per customer" field then a single user can user the coupon code for a maximum of 10 times.

Discount Type:

Apply:

You can select the discount type in "Apply" field where there are 3 options available.

They are as follows:

1. Percent of discount
2. Fixed amount discount
3. Buy X get Y free (discount amount is Y)

Percent of discount:

Selecting this option you can avail discount coupons in percentage(e.g. 10%). Enter your discount percent in "Discount Amount" field and the maximum amount that can be discounted irrespective of the discount percent in "Max Discount Amount" field. For example if a user purchases a product of price 1000 with discount percent as 20% then if the maximum discount amount is set to 100  then, that user can be availed only 100 as discount(even thought his discount amount equals to 200) and his total purchase value would be 900 after using the discount offer. However if another user buys a product worth 500 with the same option, then he may have a discount amount of 100 which is equal to the maximum discount amount.

Fixed amount discount:

Set your discount codes based on price value by using this option. For this you should give a value, which will be discounted from the overall purchase price. For example if 100 is given as "Discount amount" then this discount amount remains constant for all product purchases(irrespective of the price value).

Buy X get Y free (discount amount is Y):

This option lets you to create coupons based on price range. Example: Buy above 5000 get 100 free. You should give two input values namely "Discount Amount" and "Buy X Amount". Enter the starting range of the product purchased in "Buy X Amount" and enter the amount to be discounted in "Discount Amount" field.

Coupon Status:

Enable or disable any of your created coupon codes under this field. Once you select "Disable", no user can be able to use your coupon codes.

Click "Save & Add New" to successfully save your coupon code and go for another or click "Save & View" to view your created coupon codes in list.
